Christmas Music at Westfield
Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford were putting together a programme of entertainment for Christmas shoppers in December for their outside stage. This needed to be entertainment that shoppers could stop and watch if they wanted to, or just be atmospheric in the space to add a festive feel to the day.
We provided the Funkin Voices quartet with piano accompaniment to perform well known pop and soul songs mixed with some classic Christmas favourites - such as Last Christmas, All I want for Christmas is you etc. This created a lovely atmospheric vocal sound in the outside area which people could enjoyed as they strolled past, or could stop and engage with for a short time, asking for song requests etc.
Special requirements of event:
As there was a short time for set up and several acts programmed throughout the day, the acts had to be very quick to set up and set down so Funkin Voices was perfect for this as they only need 4 microphones and a keyboard.
The stage space wasn't too big so any more instruments would have been too tight a fit so 4 singers was ideal.
This was an outdoor event so the musicians had to be prepared for cold temperatures.
